HOT CAREER TOPICS THIS WEEK 🔥
14 September 2026
A guy automated 15 hours of his own weekly work.
His reward? Management cut his job. 11,552 upvotes. Giler kan.
That post alone tells you everything about the mood out there this week. Let's talk about it — and two other things blowing up your feed lah.
---
1. Your Efficiency Might Be the Thing That Fires You
Tahu tak, this is the most uncomfortable career lesson of 2026: doing your job TOO well can get you cut.
The Reddit post that broke the internet this week — 11,552 upvotes, 3,936 comments — was from someone who automated 15 hours of weekly work. Management noticed. Management didn't say thank you. Management said bye.
Meanwhile delivery riders on Zomato, Blinkit, Rapido are posting "no vacancy" screenshots. Even THAT market is full now. And fresh grads are berbuih mulut complaining that "entry-level" jobs now want 5 years experience.
Doktor Az take: don't hide your wins, but don't hand HR a spreadsheet proving they need one fewer of you either. Show impact. Don't show the calculation that replaces you.

2. Stop Waiting for a Promotion to Feel Like You're Growing
This one made me thin twice
LinkedIn this week is FULL of career coaches saying: a promotion is not the same as growth. You can get the new title and still be stuck. You can skip the title and still be levelling up like crazy.
One coach put it perfectly — "Performance proves you can do your current job. Career strategy positions you for the next one."
More better translation: being good at your job is the entry fee, not the trophy lah.
Doktor Az take: stop measuring your career by job titles only. Ask yourself — am I learning something new this quarter? Am I more capable than 6 months ago? If yes, you ARE progressing. Even without the fancy new title.

3. Job Hunting Right Now Feels Like a Second Full-Time Job (Because It Is)
This topic hit every platform — LinkedIn, Reddit, Threads — same energy everywhere: exhausted.
Hiring timelines are ~30% longer than last year. Job posts get 1,000+ applicants within A DAY. One viral Threads post said it best: "I'm burnt OUT on job hunting... stop wasting my time just for me to find out you're paying for thoughts and prayers."
Sabar sikit. It's not you. The system genuinely got slower and colder this year.
Doktor Az take: if you're job hunting right now and it feels impossible, it's not because you're not good enough. The pipeline itself is broken. Protect your mental health during this season — apply smart, not just apply a lot.
