Feeling nervous about your interview?

Don’t worry, you are not the only one. Let me help you with your preparation. These are 13 points to get you tip-top ready for your interview.

🥇Read about the company. 

Paling minimum google it. Even more better go to the company’s website and find out what is their vision, their priorities for the coming years.

🥇Research about the job.

Understand the main roles and responsibilities. If possible, talk to people in the company to find out more.

🥇Stalk the interviewers.

Find out who they are and then check their LinkedIn profiles. Boleh check jugak their Facebook or Instagram. There will be some useful information about their interests that you can bring into the interview.

🥇Prepare your answers.

Interview questions are very predictable. So prepare your answers to the usual interview questions. Make sure you know how to answer when they ask “Tell me about yourself”. And prepare 3 strengths and 3 weaknesses.

🥇Confirm the location of the office. 

Jangan tersilap tempat. I have had candidates going to the wrong building because the building names are very similar.

🥇 Please don’t be late. 

Do not say ‘On the way’. Set off early to have some buffer incase traffic teruk. You want to be calm and zen for your interview. Not rushing and stress.

🥇 Wear something smart. 

Business attire. For guys definitely suit and tie. Kalau overdress tak pe, better than underdress. First impression is very important tau!

🥇Make small talk with the interviewer. 

This sets a nice atmosphere for the interview. It also helps to calm yourself down.

🥇 Be confident during the interview. 

Find ways to keep your nervous energy under control. Slow breathing is a good way. Jangan la gabra

🥇Answer the interview questions clearly.

Be concise. Jangan meleret-leret. Rule of thumb is to have 3 key points for your answers.

🥇 Ask good questions. 

The questions should be relevant to the role. This can show the interviewer how much you are interested in the role. Jangan tanya pasal salary during the interview ya.

🥇 Summarise at the end. 

Repeat again why you are the best candidate for the job. Last chance for you to be memorable.

🥇 Send a thank you note. 

If you have the phone number, you can send a whatsapp message. Kalau ada email can send a short email to say thank you for the opportunity.

Interview ni sebenarnya is a mind game.

It's about you believing that you are the BEST candidate for the job.

It's about persuading the interviewers that you are the BEST candidate for the job.
